MCRP combines protection with the optimised use of water resources while taking into account environmental, social and economic aspects, thus contributing to the sustainable management of one of the world’s largest ecosystems and helping to achieve a significant economic and social impact. Maintaining and increasing productivity in the Mekong Delta will help achieve the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture; and SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
